Lawsuit alleges driver caused multi-vehicle collision

Beaumont resident Ricky Clausell is suing Peyton McKinley, also a Beaumont resident, for allegedly causing a multi-vehicle collision.

The suit was filed June 21 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 4, 2011, McKinley was traveling on Cardinal Drive in Beaumont when the defendant rear-ended a vehicle, pushing it into Clausell's vehicle and injuring him.

The suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Ryan Scott represents him.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
