Speeding driver sued for causing collision

Alleging he was injured in a car wreck, Charles Grogan has filed suit against Beaumont resident Russ Lemelle.

The suit was filed June 26 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 27, 2011, Lemelle allegedly failed to control his speed, striking Grogan's vehicle.

The suit does not state how or where the collision occurred.

However, the suit does go on to accuse the defendant of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout and maintain control of the vehicle.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Houston attorney Carlos Hughes Jr. represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
