Woman steps in paint, slips and sues

After slipping in paint two years ago, area resident Felisha Davis has filed a slip and fall suit against Kohl's Department Stores and Straightline Powerwashing and Stripping.

The suit was filed July 12 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on July 13, 2010, Davis was shopping at the Beaumont Kohl's when she slipped and fell on some paint, breaking her arm.

The suit accuses the defendants of negligently failing to warn customers of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

She is represented by John Werner, attorney for the Beaumont law firm Reaud, Morgan & Quinn.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
