MARSHALL - A female employee, who was fired shortly after her employer discovered she was pregnant, has filed a gender discrimination lawsuit.
Erin North filed suit against Radmax Ltd. on July 17 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
North states that she applied for a position with Radmax in February 2011 and was hired by the defendant. At the time of her hiring, North was pregnant, but did not publically disclose the pregnancy.
She was terminated on June 3, a day after she received an email that made a reference that the defendant would find something stupid in order to terminate North.
North accuses Radmax of gender discrimination in violation of her civil rights.
The plaintiff is asking for an award of damages for back pay, compensatory and punitive damages, front pay, court costs and interest.
North is represented by Tyler attorney William S. Hommel Jr. A jury trial is requested.
U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
