Latest wind storm suits filed against insurance companies in Jefferson County courts

A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over storm damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, July 9-20, 2012.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Linda Durden of 5745 Phyllis Lane in Beaumont alleges Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies denied her claim for dwelling repairs and additional living expenses incurred following water damage on Dec. 15. Durden will be represented by John Pat Parsons of Lindsay, Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D192-677.

  • Marilyn Durso of 9450 Doty St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Farm Bureau Underwriters denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after a severe wind and hail storm struck on Jan. 25. Durso will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd Worrich and Shelly L. Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E192-698.

  • Krystal Johnson of 237 11th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Fair Plain Association and Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after a severe thunderstorm struck Jan. 23. Johnson will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd Worrich and Shelly L. Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: A192-694.

  • Hien Nong of 2845 Neches St. in Beaumont alleges National Security Fire and Casualty Company denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after a severe wind and hail storm struck on June 6, 2011. National Security denied the claim after one of its adjusters, Aaron Timmins, inspected the property, according to the complaint. Nong will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd Worrich and Shelly Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: D192-700.

  • Mary Whaley of 8920 Lawrence Drive in Beaumont alleges Standard Guaranty Insurance Company denied her claim for roof and water damages caused to her property after a severe wind and hail storm struck on Aug. 23, 2010. Whaley will be represented by Jason B. Speights, Todd A. Worrich and Shelly Enyart of Speights and Worrich in San Antonio. Jefferson County District Court case number: E192-660.
