Man sues employer after tree falls on him

Juhan

A Hardin County resident is suing his employer, claiming a tree fell and injured his legs during the course and scope of his employment.

Kevin Wilson filed suit against Curtis, Clifford and Karl Levias on July 31 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 2 Wilson was working in China, Texas, for Curtis Levias when a tree fell and injured his legs.

At the time of the incident, Karl was operating a log skidder owned by Clifford and allegedly negligently failed to properly cut the tree.

The suit says Karl was not properly supervised.

Curtis is not a subscriber to Worker's Compensation and did not have a policy in place to cover Wilson.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. D192-760
