Alleging he fell through some rotten boards, area resident Travis Tingler has filed suit against Mostafa Sabih and his company, Best Import Salvage.
The suit was filed Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, Tingler was in the employment of Best Import on Aug. 3, 2011. He was working at the company's Beaumont premises when he fell through some rotten boards, suffering unspecified injuries.
The suit alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to provide Tingler with a safe work environment.
The suit further alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to coordinate work in a safe manner, enforcing its own safety regulations and in inspecting and maintaining the premises.
The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.
He will also seek punitive damages if discovery shows gross negligence on the defendant's part.
Beaumont attorney Matthew Morgan of the Reaud, Morgan & Quinn law firm represents him.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
