Plaintiff alleges I-beam fell and crushed hand

Harris County resident Anastacio Bustos has filed suit against HMT Tank Service and Techco Inc., claiming an I-beam fell and crushed his hand.

The suit was filed Aug. 2 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on October 18, 2010, Bustos was in the course and scope of his employment with the defendants when an improperly stacked I-beam fell and crushed his hand.

The suit does not state where the incident occurred or what Bustos was doing at the time of the incident.

The suit alleges the defendants negligently failed to warn him of the unsafe condition and properly maintain the job site in a safe manner.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

He also seeks all legally recoverable damages, including pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.

Houston attorney Loren Klitsas of Klitsas & Vercher represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
