Woman sued over unpaid medical bill

A health care organization claims one of its patients has failed to pay it more than $2,000 for services it provided.

Quality Care Services filed a lawsuit Aug. 14 in Jefferson County District Court against Mollie Dorrell.

In its complaint, Quality Care alleges it provided Dorrell with home health care services. Although it has provided Dorrell with the requested services, she has failed to pay Quality Care for its work, according to the complaint.

"The reasonable value of the services provided by Plaintiff to Defendant is $2,791.02," the suit states.

In addition to the money it says Dorrell owes it, Quality Care seeks pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just.

James W. King of Offerman and King in Beaumont will be representing it.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
