The family of the late Ida Mae Henry is suing Harbor Hospice of Beaumont and Pinnacle Health Facilities for allegedly allowing the woman’s death two years ago.
Paul and Saprina Henry filed the suit on Aug. 29 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on June 18, 2010, Ida Mae Henry was a resident at Harbor Hospice. On July 6, 2010, she was admitted to Pinnacle’s Beaumont facility.
“Defendants were negligent in the care and treatment of Ida Mae Henry and such negligence was a proximate cause of the injuries, damages and death claimed herein,” the suit states. “Ida Mae Henry died from her injuries on March 28, 2011.”
Although the suit does not state the woman’s injuries, the suit does accuse the defendants of failing to properly monitor and assess Ida Mae Henry’s condition and provide proper nutrition.
The plaintiffs are suing for wrongful death damages.
San Antonio attorney Tom Rhodes represents them.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
