Nederland man sues driver who struck motorcycle

Motorcycle accident

A Nederland man claims he suffered severe injuries after a driver struck him as he was riding on his motorcycle.

Allen Eugene Walker filed a lawsuit Aug. 30 in Jefferson County District Court against Margaret K. Zarnstorff.

In his complaint, Walker alleges he was driving his motorcycle in the 6500 block of W. Port Arthur Road on Feb. 11 when Zarnstorff failed to control her vehicle and struck his motorcycle.

In addition to his injuries, Walker incurred medical costs; experienced physical pain, suffering, impairment and disfigurement; and lost earnings, the suit states. He also incurred property damages and suffered mental anguish, the complaint says.

Walker blames Zarnstorff for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout.

In his complaint, Walker is seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus pre-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law, post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Douglas C. Sikes of Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. A192-973
