MARSHALL - A female emergency medical technician has filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against her employer that claims she was terminated for complaining about sexual harassment and gender discrimination.
Carrie Hasting filed suit against Tiger EMS Inc. on Sept. 5 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.
Hasting was employed as an EMT with Tiger EMS from Oct. 25, 2011, until she was terminated on Nov. 22, 2011. According to the lawsuit, she was touched inappropriately and subjected to verbal sexual harassment from her co-worker.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for back pay and front pay, interest, mental distress, emotional pain and suffering, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, punitive damages, attorney’s fees and court costs.
Hasting is represented by Tyler attorney William S. Hommel Jr.
A jury trial is requested.
U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
