Temp trips, sues Richard Construction

Oxford tom

Last May, Donald Jacko stepped in a hole in mat while assisting a Richard Construction employee.

On Oct. 1 Jacko filed suit against the company in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 10, 2011, Jacko was employed for American Personnel Temporaries and had been assigned to GP Industrial to work as a fire watch. GP had a contract with Richard Construction.

The suit says Richard Construction asked Jacko to leave his post to assist an employee clearing a line when he stepped in a hole in a mat and injured his left knee.

The suit accuses Richard Construction of negligence but fails to list a specific act of negligence against the company.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

He is represented by Tom Oxford of the Beaumont law firm Waldman Smallwood.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
