A Mississippi man claims he was rear-ended on an entrance ramp.

Tamarcus Hudson has filed suit against Jefferson County District Court against David Keefer.

In his complaint, Hudson claims he drove south on the entrance ramp of highway U.S. 69 in Port Arthur on Sept. 7 when Keefer, who drove behind him, failed to control his speed and ran into the back of Hudson’s vehicle.

Because of the collision, Hudson incurred medical costs; experienced physical pain, mental anguish and physical impairment; and lost wages, according to the complaint.

Keefer negligently failed to maintain control of his vehicle, failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to take proper evasive actions, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to use reasonable care to operate a vehicle and failed to stay alert, the suit states.

Hudson seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs, exemplary damages and other relief the court deems just.

Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
