Three Liberty County residents are suing Great Taste of Texas, claiming they suffered injuries in a collision allegedly caused by a company employee.

Elmira McBride, Linda Williams and Dorothy Curette filed suit against Great Taste of Texas and Andrew Mobley on Oct. 16 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 20 a motor vehicle operated by Mobley, who was in the course and scope of his employment with Great Taste of Texas, was involved in a collision with another vehicle occupied by the plaintiffs in Beaumont.

“The plaintiffs would show that the acts and/or omissions of defendant Mobley constituted negligence and served as a proximate cause of the collision in question and the damages for which recovery is sought herein,” the suit states.

“Additionally, plaintiffs contend that said defendant Mobley was negligent per se by violating one or more provisions of the Texas transportation code, including but not limited to his failure to keep an assured clear distance between two vehicles as mandated by section 545.062 of the Texas transportation code.”

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Attorney for plaintiffs is Scott Lannie of Baytown.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
