A Louisiana man and company claim a Beckville man failed to repay them more than $25,000.
Kenneth LeBlanc and Flow Chem Technologies filed a lawsuit Oct. 12 in Jefferson County District Court against Maxflow Chemicals and Scotty Rubin.
In their complaint, LeBlanc and Flow Chem allege they lent Rubin, who was a former Flow Chem employee, $25,000. He promised to repay the loan in installments, according to the complaint.
However, Rubin and Maxflow failed to make the agreed-upon payments, the suit states.
“Thereafter, Defendants promised to pay plaintiffs, by and through their undersigned attorney, multiple times, including upon the closing of a real estate transaction in July 2012,” the complaint says.
However, Rubin and Maxflow continued to fail to remake the payments, the plaintiffs claim.
The plaintiffs allege breach of contract against the defendants.
In addition to the $25,164.16 they claim they are owed, the plaintiffs seek actual damages, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.
Gilbert T. Adams of the Law Offices of Gilbert T. Adams in Beaumont will be representing them.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
