Brock Enterprises employee caused collision, suit alleges

Port Arthur local Eric Ritzberg is suing Brock Enterprises, alleging one of its employees, David Miller, caused an automobile collision nearly two years ago.

The suit was filed Nov. 5 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 2, 2010, Ritzberg was traveling south on Twin City Highway in Port Arthur when Miller, who was in the course and scope of his employment with Brock, ran a red light at an intersection and collided with Ritzberg’s vehicle.

The suit accuses Miller of negligently disregarding a red light, failing to keep a proper lookout and apply his brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiff is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Beaumont attorney Tom Oxford of Waldman Smallwood represents him.

Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
