Sugar Land resident Rhonda Piper is suing Genesis Intermodal Delivery for injuries she received in collision caused by Juan Gonzalez, a Genesis employee.
The suit was filed Nov. 9 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on March 13 Piper was traveling west on Interestate 10 in Jefferson County and had slowed due to rubber from a tire being thrown into the air when Gonzalez, who was in the course and scope of his employment with Genesis, rear-ended her.
The suit accuses Gonzalez of negligently failing to keep a proper lookout, take evasive action, and apply his brakes in a timely manner.
Genesis is faulted with negligent entrustment.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment and lost wages.
She is represented by the Beaumont Law Office of Rocky Lawdermilk.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
