A trial between construction companies in dispute over unpaid materials has been continued till next month.
As previously reported, Pamela Dodson, doing business as LD Construction, filed a lawsuit Aug. 18, 2010, in Jefferson County District Court against K.A.T. Excavation and Construction.
The case was slated for a bench trial on Monday, Dec. 3; however, the case was continued till next month, according to a courthouse official.
According to the original petition, Dodson claims K.A.T. promised to pay her for goods and services she sold and provided the company. However, despite Dodson’s demands, K.A.T. has refused to pay the $49,260 it owes.
In addition to the money Dodson claim K.A.T. owes her, she seeks interest, costs, attorney’s fees and other relief the court deems just.
Lance Fox of Creighton, Fox, Johnson and Mills in Beaumont filed the suit on the plaintiff’s behalf.
The case is assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
