Seeking to collect more than $7,000 form a credit card debt, Discover Bank has filed suit against Beaumont residents Martha and William Johnson.
The suit was filed Jan. 18 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, the parties entered into a card member agreement, wherein Discover made cash advances to the defendants.
The suit does not state when the parties entered into the agreement.
“Defendants have failed to repay all of the advances made under the agreement,” the suit states. “The current balance due … is $7,486.19.”
The plaintiff is suing for the balance due and all court costs.
Round Rock attorney Joseph O’Bell of Zwicker & Associates represents the plaintiff.
Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
