State Farm sues Entergy after power line damages insured’s home

Seeking to recover the money paid to a policyholder, State Farm Lloyds is suing Entergy Services.

State Farm, as subrogee of William Hargraves Sr., filed the suit on Feb. 26 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on April 15, 2012, a fire occurred at Hargraves’ Groves home because excessive sag in a power line caused a current to be sent to the property and start a fire.

State Farm alleges Entergy negligently failed to maintain and service the power line and pole for the property.

The insurance company is suing for the recovery of its actual, consequential and incidental damages.

Attorney Grant Harpold of the Houston law firm Vincent Lopez Serafino Jenevein.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
