Man injured while working on barn sues for $1M

A Beaumont resident has filed a suit seeking more than $1 million in damages for injuries he received while working on a barn.

Jodi Leger filed suit against Robert Hatcher, doing business as Hatcher Construction, and Ray Ramsey on March 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, Leger, a Hatcher employee at the time of the incident, was working on a barn at Ramsey’s home when he sustained an injury due to the unsafe condition of the barn.

The suit does not state how, where or when the alleged incident occurred.

The suit accuses Ramsey of failing to warn Leger of the dangerous condition of the barn and alleges both defendants failed to provide a safe workplace.

In his suit, Leger says seeks monetary relief in amount more than $1,000,000.

He is also suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Attorney John Werner of the Beaumont law firm Reaud, Morgan & Quinn law firm represents him.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
