A final judgment has been entered in a suit filed by Beaumont resident Craig Madigan, who sued Bean Sand & Gravel and one of its employees, Harry Andrews, alleging Andrews changed lanes and struck his vehicle, sending him flying across to lanes of traffic.
As previously reported, the suit was filed May 21, 2012, in Jefferson County District Court.
Court records show the final judgment was entered on June 27 and states the parties have compromised and settled the matter.
The suit alleged that on Sept. 26, 2011, Madigan was traveling south on Highway 69 in Nederland when Andrews, while acting in the course of scope of his employment with BS&G, failed to drive in a single lane and struck his vehicle.
The collision caused Madigan’s vehicle to roll over several times down an embankment and across two lanes of traffic before coming to a stop in the grass, the suit states.
The suit further accused Andrews of negligently failing to maintain a proper lookout and BS&G of negligently training him.
Madigan was suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.
