A Jefferson County woman claims she sustained physical pain and mental anguish after a driver rear-ended her vehicle.
Josiette Stewart filed a lawsuit June 28 in Jefferson County District Court against Cynthia Savoy Castille.
In her complaint, Stewart alleges she drove a 2009 Kia Sorento on May 3, 2012, when Castille, who drove a 2005 Jeep Cherokee, failed to maintain control of her vehicle and struck the back of Stewart’s.
In addition to her physical pain and mental anguish, Stewart suffered physical impairment and incurred medical costs because of the collision, according to the complaint.
Stewart blames Castille for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain control of her vehicle, drove too fast and failed to drive attentively.
In her complaint, Stewart seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Anthony Malley III of Malley Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing her.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
