Beaumont local Kendra Youmans is suing the county where she resides, alleging she was injured in an automobile collision caused by a county employee.
Youmans filed her suit against Jefferson County and Ervin LaBove on July 5 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 9, 2012, a truck owned by the county and driven by LaBove “carelessly backed up and collided with your plaintiff.”
LaBove was in the course and scope of his employment with the county at the time of the incident.
The plaintiff is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and lost wages, plus property damages.
Beaumont attorney Mel Shelander represents her.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, is assigned to the case.
