GALVESTON - An air conditioning services provider recently issued a formal response to a Texas City couple's lawsuit against it.

John Moore Services Inc. filed an original answer to Cye and Maurice Woods's allegations it performed a poor installation job on June 17.

The Woods sued John Moore in May after the business reportedly installed a defective HVAC system at their home in early February 2012.

John Moore installed an Amana HVAC system after the complainants relied upon its purported professional expertise in the selection of and consummation of the system.

According to the suit, the plaintiffs discovered problems with said system on May 2, 2012; May 4, 2012; and Sept. 8, 2012.

Among the defects the complainants found include unsealed roof penetration and the existence of the double wall vent pipe through the roof.

The suit also states that John Moore announced a 10 per cent senior discount in its phone book ad, but the business did not honor the deal to the complainants.

Meanwhile, John Moore insists it bears no responsibility for the damages in question, placing the blame on third parties and the Woods's supposed negligence.

Attorney Collin G. Warren of Adams & Reese LLP in Houston is representing the defendant.
