Insurance company failed to pay for damages to man's vehicle, lawsuit contends

A Kentucky man claims his insurance company failed to pay him for damages his vehicle sustained.

Brent Mikelson filed a lawsuit July 3 in Jefferson County District Court against Progressive County Mutual Insurance Co.

In his complaint, Mikelson alleges his car was damaged, but does not specify how the damages occurred. He asked Progressive to pay for the damages to the vehicle, but the insurance company delayed payment to him, according to the complaint.

Mikelson says Progressive breached its contract with him and engaged in deceptive insurance practices.

Mikelson seeks unspecified amounts owed under the policy, plus interest, statutory damages, pre-judgment interest and attorney’s fees.

E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont will be representing him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. E194-501
