Three Midland County residents have filed suit seeking more than $1 million from the driver who they claim caused a collision on the highway.

Luis Palomares, minor Luis Palomares Jr. and Maltos Gilbert Palomares claim they were riding in a vehicle on State Highway 158 on Aug. 2, 2011, in Glasscock County when defendant Clifford Gon, who was driving for his employer, Redlac Enterprises, caused a collision.

Due to the accident, the plaintiffs experienced physical pain and suffering; endured emotional pain, torment and suffering; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed July 23 in Jefferson County District Court. They also endured physical impairment and physical disfigurement; lost their physical ability; and lost wages, the suit states.

The plaintiffs blame Gon for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to take proper evasive action, drove inattentively and failed to control his speed to avoid a collision.

In their complaint, the plaintiffs seek a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Kevin Adley and Gilbert Garza of Adley Law Firm in Houston will be representing them.

Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
