Harrison County business sued by former employee for overtime wages

MARSHALL - A Harrison County business is sued by a former employee who claims she was not paid overtime wages.

Pamela Jones filed suit against R&N Griggs LP on Sept. 16 in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division.

Jones claims that R&N intentionally failed to pay her overtime wages.

The defendant is accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act for failing to pay Jones for the hours she worked in excess of 40 hours per week at a rate not less than one and one-half times the regular hourly rate of pay.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for unpaid wages, overtime, liquidated damages, court costs and attorney’s fees.

Jones is represented by Tyler attorney Bob Whitehurst. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap is assigned to the case.
