Independent Bank has filed suit against Beaumont local Lashawnda Guillory, seeking to recover the $14,000 still owed on her purchase of a BMW.
The suit was filed Sept. 12 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, the lender is the holder of a motor vehicle installment contract executed by Guillory on June 27, 2012, for a 2006 BMW in the amount of $33,490.
“This case is to recover a deficiency balance,” the suit states. “Defendant has defaulted in the payment of the contract accordingly.”
The amount owed is $14,452.54.
The suit further accuses the defendant of breaching her contract.
The plaintiff is suing to recover the amount owed, interest, court costs and attorney’s fees.
Houston attorney Monica Orlando of Orlando & Braun represents the plaintiff.
Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
