Texas City man says Manvel motorist rear-ended him

GALVESTON - Texas City local Michael Wyatt is suing Manvel resident John Walsh over a two-vehicle accident near his residence.

Recent court documents filed Sept. 18 in Galveston County Court at Law No. 2 show that Walsh rear-ended Wyatt in May.

The plaintiff was backing out of his driveway at the time of the alleged incident, according to the suit.

It states that he was yielding to the oncoming traffic when the defendant "failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway and struck the plaintiff's vehicle on the right rear panel."

"The impact was substantial," the original petition says.

"As a result of the impact, the plaintiff suffered injury and property damages."

Wyatt insists that he did nothing to bring forth the subject collision.

Consequently, he seeks unspecified monetary damages.

Attorney Rich Melendez of Melendez Law PC in Houston is representing the complainant, and Galveston County Court-at-Law No. 2 Judge Barbara Roberts is presiding over the case.
