Woman falls during RiverFest, sues city of Port Neches

A woman is seeking exemplary damages after she fell at Port Neches RiverFest 2013.

Erica Lee filed suit against the city of Port Neches and Neches Federal Credit Union on Sept. 25 in Jefferson County District Court.

The 2013 Port Neches RiverFest was held May 2-5 on the Neches River at the Port Neches City Park. The event includes boat racing, carnival rides and live music.

Neches Federal Credit Union is a sponsor of the event.

According to the lawsuit, Lee was at RiverFest when she fell and injured her leg and ankle.

The suit does not state how Lee fell or what she was doing at the time.

The suit only accuses the defendants of negligently failing to warn her of the unsafe condition and maintain the premises.

Lee is also suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Houston attorney Jason Itkin of Arnold & Itkin represents her.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. B194-314
