Albertson’s employee sues after slipping and falling

SHERMAN - An Albertson’s employee has filed a lawsuit claiming she fractured her right hip after she slipped and fell.

Linda Norred filed suit against Albertson’s on Oct. 4 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division. 

The incident occurred on Dec. 10, 2012, while Norred was employed by the Albertson’s located in Murphy. According to the lawsuit, Norred went to the back of the store to fix a soap dispenser and she slipped and fell, landing on her right side. She suffered a fractured right hip in the incident, according to the suit.

Norred claims that other complaints had been made about the slippery floor.

The defendant is accused of failing to place mats and failing to place warning signs that the floor was dangerous.

The plaintiff is seeking an award of damages for serious bodily injuries, physical pain, mental anguish, emotional distress, medical expenses, loss of physical capacity, loss of earning capacity and loss of income, disfigurement, impairment, interest and court costs.

Norred is represented by David B. Joeckel Jr. of The Joeckel Law Office in Fort Worth. A jury trial is requested.
