April Roach filed suit in the Jefferson County Circuit Court on Oct. 21, naming Government Employees Insurance Co. as the sole defendant.

Roach's lawsuit stems from an auto accident dating back to September 2011. According to Roach, she was stopped in her car because of an accident in front of her when an underinsured driver rear ended her.

Roach claims to have incurred $32,000 in medical expenses from the accident which her insurance provider, Government Employees Insurance Co., refuses to pay out. Roach is arguing that her insurance policy should have covered the accident.

Roach is seeking more than $100,000, but less than $500,000, in damages.

She is being represented by attorney Tom Oxford.
