Pedestrian sues driver he claims hit him in parking lot

A man is suing a driver claiming he was hit struck while walking in a Wal-Mart parking lot. 

Nathaniel Jones Jr. filed a lawsuit Nov 12 in the District Court of Jefferson County against Willie Jacquet, citing negligence.

Jones says that on Nov 21, 2012, he was walking across the cross walk in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Port Arthur when Jacquet allegedly failed to yield the right of way and struck him with his vehicle, causing injuries.

Jones is seeking damages between $100,000 and $500,000.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Tom Oxford of Waldman & Smallwood PC.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
