Woman files negligence lawsuit against driver following car accident

Rosa Lopez, as next friend of Victoria Galvan, a minor, filed suit in the District Court of Jefferson Co. on Nov. 12, naming Lillie Henderson as the defendant. Lopez is suing over injuries allegedly sustained in a car accident in November of 2011.

According to Lopez, on Nov. 12, 2011, she and Victoria Galvan were in a car collision with Henderson.

Lopez claims the accident occurred because Henderson was driving inattentively and going too fast through an intersection. Lopez claims the cause of the accident was Henderson's negligence and now seeks to hold her liable for their injuries.

Lopez and Galvan are seeking between $100,000 and $200,000 in damages.

They are being represented by attorney Nick Maram.

The case has been assigned to Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court.
