GALVESTON - A local motorist is suing a League City construction worker over a March 2012 accident between them, according to recent court documents.
In a lawsuit filed Dec. 10 in Galveston County District Court, Amalia Rodriguez claims that Ryan Willis Lucas collided with her at an intersection in Kemah on March 1, 2012.
Ramirez, who was driving a Toyota Corolla, was traveling eastbound on FM 2094 towards Highway 146 while Lucas operated a Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck on 2094's westbound lanes.
The plaintiff says Lucas failed to yield the right-of-way to her and collided with her vehicle, stating the apparent impact injured her.
He is blamed for failing to control the truck as well as neglecting to keep a proper lookout.
R W Lucas Construction LLC, Lucas Construction Co. and Lucas Construction & Equipment Services LLC are named defendants in the case since the defendant was reportedly on the clock for them at the time of the subject wreck.
Consequently, Ramirez seeks more than $1 million in damages and a jury trial.
She is represented by attorney John M. Padilla of Padilla & Rodriguez LLP in Houston.
The case has been assigned to the Galveston County 212th District Court.
