Rear end collision on I-10 results in lawsuit

A Kountze resident is suing after a car rear ended her vehicle, causing a collision.

Bridget Walston filed a lawsuit Dec. 6 in Jefferson County District Court against Orion Marine Construction Inc. and Eduardo Garza, citing negligence and respondeat superior.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 18, Walston was traveling on Interstate 10 near the Goodyear Plant in Beaumont and began to slow with the rate of traffic when Garza slammed into the rear of Walston's vehicle. 

At the time of the accident, Garza was driving a vehicle owned Orion Marine Construction, according to the complaint. The plaintiff contends Garza acted negligently, causing injuries and damages.

Walston is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Stewart M. Butler of The Butler Law Firm LLP.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th District Court.
