Jefferson County man files an order for annuity transfer

A Jefferson County man has filed an order for a transfer of an annuity account.

G. Chavis Jr. filed an application Jan. 29 in the Jefferson County District Court, requesting the approval to transfer his structured annuity benefits.

The plaintiff claims Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. is the current issuer and owner of the annuity, to which he pays 120 monthly Life Contingent payments of $5,208 each. Payments are set to increase at 4 percent annually, beginning April 1, 2024, and ending March 1, 2034.

The plaintiff is requesting for the annuity to be transferred to Peachtree Settlement Funding LLC.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Julie Pi Evans of Julie Pi Evans Law Firm.
