The Spindletop Spin, the annual fundraiser for the Jefferson County Bar Association Foundation, was held June 7 and featured a new start/finish location.
The Spin is the premier cycling event of Southeast Texas and pays tribute to the memory of Honorable Tom Mulvaney. The mission of the Jefferson County Bar Association’s Spindletop Spin is to actively promote health and wellness in our community while raising funds to support legal-related educational and charitable services for the citizens of Southeast Texas.
Around 1,000 cyclists gathered at the new Beaumont Event Centre this year, instead of heading out and ending on Crockett Street.
The foundation provides legal assistance to veterans, partners with courts on National Adoption Day, organizes the Evelyn Lord Teen Court with the city of Beaumont, supports at-risk youth through the Pipeline Project and provides indigent legal services through the Pro Bono Program.
The ride offered routes for all skill levels, including 96 miles, 52 miles, 29 miles or 12 miles.
Sponsors for the ride included the Invista petrochemical company, Germer law firm, Strong Pipkin Bissell & Ledyard LLP, Calvert Eaves Clarke & Stelly LLP, Mehaffy Weber, Orgain Bell & Tucker LLP, Walden Reynard PLLC, attorney Jimmy Hamm, attorney Tommy Yeates, attorney Brian Sutton and dozens of other corporate and individual sponsors.
Spindletop Spin has another successful ride
