Horseshoe Entertainment sued after woman falls

A woman is suing after she fell while inside a casino.

Maria Barre filed a lawsuit Jan. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, against Horseshoe Entertainment LLP, citing negligence.

The complaint states on Sept. 28, 2012, the plaintiff sustained injuries when she tripped and fell over a sagging rope near the cage tellers at the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, La.

The plaintiff claims the sagging rope created an unreasonable danger and alleges the defendant knew of the dangerous condition, which led to the plaintiff's injuries, according to the complaint.

Barre is seeking economic damages, non-economic damages, compensatory damages, interest and costs.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Adam B. Allen of White Shaver.

The case has been assigned to District Judge Rodney Gilstrap and referred to Magistrate Judge Roy Payne for pretrial proceedings.
