A Dallas County resident is suing for alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Jackie Jones filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division, against Aspen Healthcare Services and Sukhu George, citing violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The complaint states Jones worked for the defendants from July 2012 through December 2013 as a certified nursing assistant.
During at least one week of Jones' employment, she claims she worked more than 40 hours, but alleges the defendants failed to pay her overtime compensation in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to the complaint.
Jones is seeking actual damages, compensatory damage, liquidated damages and costs.
She is being represented by Douglas B. Welmaker of Dunham & Jones PC in Austin.
