Man sues travel center for injury

A Florida man is suing a Texas travel center alleging unsafe conditions on the premise caused him to fall and become severely injured.

Robert Stott filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 in the Galveston County District Court against TA Operating LLC, doing business as Travelcenters of America LLC, with an office at 211 E. Seventh St. in Austin, citing negligence.

Stott says on Feb. 13, 2012, he sustained serious injuries when leaving the defendant's business. Stott brought his truck to the defendant's business to have a tire repaired on his commercial truck.

According to the claim, as Stott was walking back to his truck, he stepped on a grate that collapsed, causing Stott to fall and sustain serious injuries.

Stott is seeking damages and court costs.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Gregory Q. Fibich of Fibich, Hampton, Leebron, Briggs, Josephson LLP.
