Construction company sues private contractor after dumpster hits house

A Jefferson County construction company is suing over claims a private contractor negligently damaged a home.

Byrdson Services, doing business as Excello Construction, filed a lawsuit on Jan. 15 in Jefferson County District Court against Republic Services Inc., citing negligence.

Excello Construction claims it entered into an agreement with the defendant to have a dumpster dropped off at a home the plaintiff was repairing, located in Jefferson County.

The suit alleges that when the dumpster was dropped off at the location the driver rammed the dumpster into the house and severely damaged the home.

The plaintiff paid for the home to be repaired and went to the defendant to be reimbursed but alleges the defendant refused to do so.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, interest and court costs.

The company is being represented in the case by Jefferson County attorney Richard P. Griffin Jr.
