Four Points By Sheraton named in slip and fall lawsuit

Jeanette Barnes filed a lawsuit in the Galveston County District Court on Jan. 22, naming Gopal Govind Enterprises Inc., Four Points by Sheraton and The Marcus Corp. as the defendants.

Barnes is suing over injuries she allegedly sustained when she slipped and fell outside of the defendant's business.

According to Barnes, in February 2012 she was at the Four Points By Sheraton on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston when she was injured.

Barnes says she was walking outside on steps leading to the parking lot when she slipped and fell.

In her complaint Barnes accuses the Sheraton of allowing a dangerous condition to exist on or near the steps. However, Barnes does not specify how she fell or what she slipped on.

Barnes says the Sheraton was negligent in maintaining the steps. She allegedly suffered injuries during the course of her fall and now seeks to hold the defendants liable.

Barnes is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

She is being represented by the Law Offices of Jon L. Anderson.
