A Galveston County woman is suing her former boyfriend, claiming he broke a contract they made together regarding a vehicle purchase.
Charmagne Acevedo filed a lawsuit Jan. 23 in the Galveston County District Court against James Michael Knowles, citing fraud and breach of contract.
The suit states that on June 21, Acevedo entered into an agreement with Knowles that she would purchase two BMWs from Advantage BMW in Galveston County -- one for Acevedo and one for Knowles.
The claim states that under their agreement the title for Knowles' car would have both of their names listed on the title and Knowles would make payments to Acevedo for the purchase of the vehicle.
According to the complaint, Knowles had only his name put on the title and then secretly left with the car after Acevedo purchased it, later claiming Acevedo gave him the car as a gift.
Acevedo is seeking damages, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.
She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Gary L. Eudy of Gary Eudy Attorney at Law.
