A Nederland woman has filed seeking court authorization to perpetuate a testimony.

Robin Vance filed a petition to perpetuate the testimony of Roger Vance on Feb. 3 in the Jefferson County District Court.

The petition states Robin Vance anticipates filing an action against Roger Vance's former employer, Texaco Inc. and Huntsman Petrochemical LLC. She wants to record testimony from Roger about his employment, chemical exposure and damages sustained since he developed Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Robin seeks to perpetuate Roger's testimony because the chances of his recovery are poor, according to the court document, and his statements could be necessary if she were to file a lawsuit against his former employers.

The petitioner asks the court to authorize the deposition of Roger Vance to perpetuate his testimony.

Robin Vance is being represented in the case by attorney D'Juana Parks of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP.

The case has been assigned to Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court.
