A local man is suing three efendants over injuries and damages he sustained in a car accident.
James R. Urban is suing Daniel Clayton McNeill, Autumn Dennis Wright and Custom Ecology in the Jefferson County District Court.
In his complaint, filed Feb. 28, 2013, Urban says the defendants caused him to crash his car in October 2012. According to Urban, McNeill was merging with eastbound traffic on State Highway 73 after exiting U.S. 69 and failed to yield to Urban who had the right of way.
Urban claims that Wright, who was driving an 18-wheeler for Custom Ecology, was following too close behind him. The suit states McNeill failed to yield, requiring Urban to slam on his brakes at which time Wright rear-ended him. Wright then pushed Urban's car forward, causing a collision with McNeill, according to the suit.
Urban accuses McNeill of negligence in failing to stop and Wright was following too close behind. Urban was allegedly injured during the accident and seeks to hold the defendants liable for their part in causing his injuries.
Urban is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits and is being represented by attorney Jane S. Leger of the Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP.
