Rear-end collision results in lawsuit

A family is suing after they were allegedly victims in a rear-end collision. 


Manoleto Alameda, individually and as next friend of Isabella Alameda, Andre Alameda, Xavier Alemeda, Manoleto Alameda Jr., minors, and Veronica Segeada, individually and as next friend of Esperanza Zapata, filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against Gyro Logistics Inc. and Francisco Garza, citing negligence and negligence per se.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 24, the plaintiffs were at a complete stop at the intersection of Park Street and College Street, Beaumont. The complaint alleges Garza, while acting in the scope of his employment with Gyro Logistics, was approaching the intersection when he looked away, failed to stop and crashed into the back of the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiffs are seeking an undisclosed amount of damages.

They are being represented by attorneys Clay Dugas and Cody Rees.
