HEB Grocery sued after woman injured on premises

A Galveston County woman is suing over claims she was injured on the premises of a grocery store.


Kathy Yassien filed a lawsuit Feb. 26 in the Galveston County District Court against H.E. Butt Grocery Co. and HEB Grocery Co. LP, citing premises liability. 

According to the complaint, on July 27, Yassien was shopping at the HEB Grocery store on Gulf Freeway in League City when she slipped on an accumulation of water at the store's entrance.

Yassien claims her femur was fractured, and after surgery she contracted an infection that prolonged her recovery.

HEB is accused of failing to provide a safe premises for its customers.

Yassien is seeking more than $100,000 in damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorney William K. Adams and Thomas A. Adams IV of The Adams Law Firm.
